PSYCHOPEDAGOGY DEPARTMENT

The school’s Psychopedagogy Department (DOP), made up of three psychologists, an adolescent coach, and a speech therapist, plays a crucial role in supporting the emotional, academic, and social development of our students. Through our Connections programme, we integrate various areas of support, ensuring a holistic and coherent approach that addresses the needs of students at every stage of their development.

Prevention

The department develops and supervises programmes and workshops to promote mental health, prevent bullying, and foster resilience and emotional management skills.

For the past 20 years, we have implemented the Mónica Toscano method, Prevention in Act, which helps us prevent violence in the classroom and provides the opportunity to get to know our students through dialogue and role-playing on issues that affect them.

Intervention and Assessment

The department offers individual and group interventions to address emotional, behavioural, and academic issues. The adolescent coach works on developing goals and problem-solving skills in a personalised manner.

The DOP specialists conduct psychological, psychopedagogical, and speech assessments to identify learning difficulties, language issues, and emotional and behavioural problems. They identify potential risk situations to plan appropriate interventions while collaborating with families and specialised centres.

The DOP provides guidance to teachers on strategies to identify and prevent emotional and behavioural problems through tutorial action. Our Sustainable Minds programme aims to establish a solid foundation for self-awareness and emotional and social management.

Development of Specific Programmes

The DOP designs enriched and accelerated programmes for students with high abilities, providing them with additional intellectual challenges and advanced activities. For students with special needs, it implements Individualised Support Plans (ISP), ensuring they receive the necessary resources and attention.

It oversees the implementation of specific protocols for cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech difficulties, and dyscalculia, ensuring that best practices are followed and interventions are adapted as needed.
